DHL is the world’s largest logistics company operating around the world, particularly in sea and air mail and has a major presence in Ireland.
For DHL’s office at Shannon in Co. Clare, Farrell Furniture was chosen after a competitive tender process, for their ability to provide the combination of bespoke storage elements and value-engineered workstations along with complementary seating. This office upgrade came with specific challenges. Due to continued success and expansion, DHL were taking on more employees and needed to accommodate the new staff in their existing building.
This required a focus on design and we were tasked with providing a furniture solution that could meet very precise storage requirements and would also create a first-class modern working environment, including bespoke meeting room, break-out and conference facilities.
With more than 80 people working within a large open-plan office, we needed to deliver a solution that would accommodate a range of personal tastes as well as meet practical requirements for a busy working environment.
Right through our design phase, we worked closely with all stakeholders and gained a solid understanding of what was required in terms of both practical requirements and individual styles. For personal workstations, we delivered bespoke units with personal storage attached. Purpose-built storage units were designed to handle a range of company-specific documents. Our Partners range gave us the flexibility and innovation required to provide an excellent solution in a challenging environment.
Customised office screens formed an important element of the overall solution and we worked closely with DHL’s graphics partners, supplying the screens, allowing them to apply imagery.
